Yellow Rose

My mom always loved yellow roses.. I got my wife, Gayla, a yellow rose for Valentine's day. For a camera phone pic, I am pretty impressed with this.

Long Time No Blog

or something like that.
Let's play catch-up, shall we? quite a bit of which is just cell phone pics and vids but.. yeah. Here's some stuff!

There was some birthdays in October. You know, Of people I know. Here's some silly vids:

Some leaves withered off of trees.. Just in case you didn't know that happens in the fall, here's some evidence:

Winter came and went.. I don't really have many pics from this last winter. At least I don't think I do. I'm pretty sure I have some flickr catchin up to do too. I'll fill in the blanks later if there are any.

But it's spring/summer now! Look how green the grass is at bullhead park!

Kitty

Born and raised in Albuquerque, I've been fortunate enough to have received training in various art forms by several family members. My mother is a self taught seamstress and has her bachelors in home economics. My maternal grandmother was too, a (self taught) seamstress, but also a cosmetologist and makeup artist. These talents along with my father's (who has his own introduction available on this same blog,) have been passed along to me seemingly through osmosis. Having a brain that is a sponge for all sorts of random and useful information, I've taught myself a plethora of other handy skills, mostly technology based, throughout my life. I haven't had the pleasure of attending higher education beyond high school but I'm quite proud of the school I attended to achieve my diploma. I'm fortunate that I haven't had to force myself to chose a job I hate to support myself, quite the contrary. I have been a Jill of many trades and I thoroughly enjoy the work I do.

This blog is a work in progress and is very useful for both my dad and I to collaborate on sharing our artwork and as much of our day-to-day lives as we can.

From a German family in Fredericksburg, Texas, I spent most of my days on a farm or in our orchards. I learned to love animals, agriculture and the German language at a young age. Being pulled by my parents to New Mexico in elementary school, we spent some time in Albuquerque and then back to Texas to spend a large chunk of my developing years in Amarillo. It was there that I developed a love for nature by being an Eagle Scout by age 14. We moved back to New Mexico shortly thereafter where I attended Santa Fe High. Being In New Mexico blew my mind with how gorgeous a landscape can be. I was lucky enough to work in the film industry along side my hero, John Wayne in my high school years. Joining the Navy fresh out of high school afforded me opportunities to travel and learn exponentially. Pain teaches us things, and for reasons that will sully this introduction if I were to elaborate, I got an honorable discharge. (This was a good thing.) From there I went on to dabble in the trade I watched my father work hard in, elevators. I had already known so much through him and it deeply fascinated me. I was (and still am) very passionate about the elevator industry and I excelled at it. I've been highly praised and my expertise as invaluable in the industry is often sought out. I have another deep passion in me to create and as such I've taught myself so many different mediums of art; metalwork, carpentry, tiling, paving, (various construction related works obviously) and of course the traditional graphite on paper, painting, sculpting, etc. I love to create. I love my home renovations, I love the sanctuary I've made in my courtyard. Most of all, I love the two beautiful children my wife and I have made. They have gone on to make their own children and art, and that's so incredibly beautiful to me.
