New purse!

I've decided to start a collection of mobile pics on flickr. I have also linked my twitter account to my facebook and my flickr account to twitter. so basically, any mobile pics I send to flickr will show up on my twitter which will double to my facebook. I know, it's genius, really. *polishes her fingernails on her shirt* yeah, I know. I'm just that cool.

anyway, this is my new purse. :) I spent many a moment trying to decide on which clutch I wanted to go with the dress I will be wearing tomorrow at a wedding Ethan and I will be attending.

purdy stuff

Katie invited me to blog here, so here I am! More importantly, here's some eye candy that I took with my Phone:

For now, phone pics are all I have to share on my flickr account, and on here. Sure I have years and years worth of goodies to share with the world, but that would take hours upon hours of scanning old slides and prints. I don't have one of those new, fancy digital cameras all the kids are ravin' about these days, but I have my cell phone, and I have taken some pretty decent pics with it. So for now, I hope these (and anything I post in the future,) inspire oohs and awes. (Granted, there's plenty of pic on my flickr account that are not proper photography or gallery worthy, but they're fun to share.)

Kitty

Born and raised in Albuquerque, I've been fortunate enough to have received training in various art forms by several family members. My mother is a self taught seamstress and has her bachelors in home economics. My maternal grandmother was too, a (self taught) seamstress, but also a cosmetologist and makeup artist. These talents along with my father's (who has his own introduction available on this same blog,) have been passed along to me seemingly through osmosis. Having a brain that is a sponge for all sorts of random and useful information, I've taught myself a plethora of other handy skills, mostly technology based, throughout my life. I haven't had the pleasure of attending higher education beyond high school but I'm quite proud of the school I attended to achieve my diploma. I'm fortunate that I haven't had to force myself to chose a job I hate to support myself, quite the contrary. I have been a Jill of many trades and I thoroughly enjoy the work I do.

This blog is a work in progress and is very useful for both my dad and I to collaborate on sharing our artwork and as much of our day-to-day lives as we can.

From a German family in Fredericksburg, Texas, I spent most of my days on a farm or in our orchards. I learned to love animals, agriculture and the German language at a young age. Being pulled by my parents to New Mexico in elementary school, we spent some time in Albuquerque and then back to Texas to spend a large chunk of my developing years in Amarillo. It was there that I developed a love for nature by being an Eagle Scout by age 14. We moved back to New Mexico shortly thereafter where I attended Santa Fe High. Being In New Mexico blew my mind with how gorgeous a landscape can be. I was lucky enough to work in the film industry along side my hero, John Wayne in my high school years. Joining the Navy fresh out of high school afforded me opportunities to travel and learn exponentially. Pain teaches us things, and for reasons that will sully this introduction if I were to elaborate, I got an honorable discharge. (This was a good thing.) From there I went on to dabble in the trade I watched my father work hard in, elevators. I had already known so much through him and it deeply fascinated me. I was (and still am) very passionate about the elevator industry and I excelled at it. I've been highly praised and my expertise as invaluable in the industry is often sought out. I have another deep passion in me to create and as such I've taught myself so many different mediums of art; metalwork, carpentry, tiling, paving, (various construction related works obviously) and of course the traditional graphite on paper, painting, sculpting, etc. I love to create. I love my home renovations, I love the sanctuary I've made in my courtyard. Most of all, I love the two beautiful children my wife and I have made. They have gone on to make their own children and art, and that's so incredibly beautiful to me.
